New Projects & Jumpy Frog

Since returning back to Sydney I have been re-acquainted with my sewing machine!! While in London there were lots of things that I wanted to make but hand stitching was just way too slow so I ended up buying the odd thing now and then (when I couldn't resist or was a much needed necessity/gift!).

But now that I am back home in Sydney with all my appliances (yay cake mixer no more manual stirring and whipping for ages!) I can start on all my little projects. Plus since I am still a Lady of Leisure (read unemployed, looking for a job) I have had a little bit of time to do my little projects!

I've been a busy little bee and have had lots of fun sewing away! Here's some of my little goodies:

I gave my monkeys to my niece and nephew - it is so cute when I see them carrying them around!!

I made that heart bag for myself and then also made another one for my sister-in-law for Chrissie!

I've got loads of friends and relos who are having babies so I started making the diaper/baby wipe pouches for them.

And I keep spotting really cute fabrics that I'm not sure what to do with so I made little tissue holders just so I can use the fabric!!

I just finished off a little zippy bag to hold some more of my loose bits & pieces in my handbag and my sister requested a notebook cover that I just finished yesterday for her!

So you can see that I've been busy and having loads of fun at the same time!

In the end I decided to change my earring shop (previously ppaccessories.etsy.com) and instead open up a brand new shop called JUMPY FROG (http://jumpyfrog.etsy.com) combiningg my earrings and all other bits & bobs!

Cocozas: Granny Bag

See that gorgeous red and white granny bag just up there? Well I got this bag from fabulous seller Cocoza. I was on the search for a gift for my friend and I luckily found Cocozas shop and this pretty red granny bag in there! It was perfect!!! I received it in the mail recently and was very tempted to keep it for myself cause it was so pretty and nicely made ... but I somehow managed to control myself (only just!) and passed it onto my friend today.

It made me revisit all the bags I hearted while in the search for my friends gift. Now I am very tempted to get myself one! Fantastic Etsy Purchase!

One of my first few etsy purchases was from this lovely UK seller Angharad. I can't even remember how I found her shop, but all I know is that I loved the cute fabrics and pieces she made with them.

There was little hesitation when I purchased these! [click on the image for more details]

They were perfect for me cause I can never find my loose tissues in my handbag when I need them desparately and by the time I get to them they are always gunky from all the crap thats way down deep at the bottom of my handbag! Plus I love offering tissues to all my friends now...'oh you need a tissue, i have one' *pulls out gorgeous tissue holder*

And I found the cute purse was just the right size for me to take to the gym! I never bring anything more than my water bottle, keys, loose change and mobile to the gym and now I can go to the gym with just my water bottle and a little purse that fits everything I need into it!

These have been one of my best buys on etsy so far!! Thanks Angharad!!

Handbag Wish List

I have been dreaming about a nice nice bag for quite some time now. I have always wanted to splurge but always got caught up in the price of it all. I do at times ofcourse convince myself - the usual 'it's an investment', 'you use it everyday' 'it's leather and good quality'... i'm sure you know how it all goes but when it comes to the crunch i just can't fathom parting with so much $$$ for a handbag.

Although when I think about how many cheaper handbags have a I bought over the years (prob too many!) they would probably add up to one beautiful, well made, good quality handbag if I thought about it (no, stop I don't want to think about it!)

But now that 'PPDesigns' has been established there is some (ok maybe teeny tiny) hope that it will make it BIG one day! And when it does i'll be ready to go shopping for my that ever important accessory ..... a womans must have staple HANDBAG.

The question of to buy or not will hopefully be irrelevant when PPDesigns make it big (!) and instead it will be Flashy or Practical?? :) Although flashy bags are very drool worthy I admit I would probably get much more value out of a traditional practical bag. A few of my picks for whenever I can afford it (hopefully before i'm 80!!)
